Introducing our Directors

Mr Karl Jermyn, Chair of the Board of Directors and Finance Director

Karl Jermyn is a qualified Chartered Accountant (1997) with previous experience as a Senior Accountant, Finance Director and later Managing Director of a private sector organisation in Great Yarmouth with turnover of £30m and 150 staff. Karl is Chairman of Great Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce and Chair of Trustees of a Norfolk Charity.

Mr Andy Walder, BA (Hons), Vice Chair of the Board of Directors

Prior to his retirement, Andy Walder held the position of Executive Director of the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). He has previous experience as a Marketing & Development Director/Consultant in a number of private sector organisations. Andy is a qualified Cricket Coach. Andy was also a Board Member at Freebridge Community Housing for 8 years and served as Chair for 6 years. Andy is currently Chair designate at B3 Living Housing Association and a Director at West Norfolk Housing Company. 

Sophie Bates

Sophie is a social housing professional and member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, currently working as an Executive Director with a local housing association in King’s Lynn. With 25 years in social housing in a variety of roles, Sophie has extensive experience of working with local partners and stakeholders.

Peter Britton BA (Hons); solicitor; FCInstArb, and until recently a Judge

Peter was until recently an Employment Judge of some 30 years of service. Prior thereto, he was a prominent solicitor for many years in East Anglia. He was a school governor until taking up his full time judicial post 20 years ago.

Lisa Cook, BEd (Hons), NQPH

Lisa Cook is the CEO and Chief Accounting Officer for the Trust. She has over 30 years of successful teaching and leadership experience in a number of schools across Norfolk. Lisa specialises in improving outcomes for all pupils and spends a large proportion of her time working alongside headteachers, leaders and teachers to that end.  A strong believer in the power of relationships and open and honest communication, Lisa regularly checks in with all stakeholders to ascertain how well the Trust is meeting the needs of our communities. She is not afraid to make changes where they are needed so that the Trust continues to provide a good quality of education and support to the pupils and their families in our Trust community.

Mr Mike Douglass BA, MA, NPQH

Mike Douglass worked in education for 44 years.

He taught Geography, Economics and Business Studies in a range of educational settings and was involved in developing materials for a number of national curriculum initiatives such as the Economics 16-19 project and the delivery of Economic Awareness 11-18. He was an experienced A level examiner and was an external examiner for Brighton University’s Business Education Programme.

Mike had 21 years experience of Senior Leadership 12 of which were as Headteacher in a large 11-18  secondary school.

Mr Richard Curtis

Richard is a retired Senior Police Officer with Norfolk Constabulary having retired in 2009 after serving 40 years.  He is also Vice Chair of a local Charity in West Norfolk and a Governor Member of the Norfolk County Council Permanent Exclusion Review Panel. He also sat on the N.C.C. School Admissions Appeal Panel for 15 years before leaving in 2017.

Richard also works as an examination invigilator at  Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.

He was made a member of the Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 2006.
